Please explain this paragraph

Dear student

In the following paragraph Ranga tells the narrator how he feels about marriage. He says he cannot marry any girl, and that only couples who love each other should get married. If the couples are unmatched by age, then they may break apart due to the smallest of issues like an argument. He then asks the narrator, what would have happened in the play Shakuntala, if it had taken place in the present day. He insists it would have ended differently in the modern day circumstances and insists that a man must remain a bachelor until he finds the right woman to marry.
