As we know, glass is a transparent medium, that means light can pass through it but iron is opaque medium, that means light cannot pass through it.
So, from the shadow shown here, outer part is darker and inner part in brighter. We can conclude that in outer circular part, there is no light. That means in outer part is due to shadow region created by iron
and in inner part, it is bright. As light can pass through glass, we can assume, inner part is due to glass disc, which have smaller diameter than that of iron.
So, the combination 1 (with larger iron disc in outer region and smaller glass disc in middle) will create the shadow as shown in figure.
