Please give proper reason of each step of your solution with suitable figure.

12.   The horizontal range and maximum height attained by a projectile are R and H respectively. If a constant  horizontal acceleration α = g/4 is imparted to the projectile due to wind, then its horizontal range and maximum height will be

( a )     R   +   H ,   H 2                                                                                     ( b )     R   +   H 2 ,   2 H ( c )     R   +   2 H ,   H                                                                                     ( d )     R   +   H ,   H

Dear Student
In normal projectile time of light t , horizontal range R and height can be given as'

With a constant acceleration due to wind in horizontal direction:

Time of flight remains same and is dependent on vertical component of velocity. Also H remains same as there is no modification in y direction. So H'= H when acceleration due to wind is imparted.

Now new range will be

R'=R+12at2R'=vo2sin 2θg+12g42vosinθg2R'= vo2sin 2θg+g84vo2 sin2θg2R'= vo2sin 2θg+12vo2 sin2θgR'= R+H

So correct option is d
