Hello Diya, he distributed 200 books
As k is the zero of x^2 - 100 x - 20000 = 0 we get
k^2 - 100 k - 20000 = 0
(k - 200)(k + 100) = 0
==> k = 200 or -100
As -100 is not feasible we have k = 200

answer is 500 just solve equation and reject -400

dear Mayank kumar when you take the quadratic formula b is suppose to be positive right since b is negative

P(x)=×'2-100x-20000 Since k is a zero of the polynomial K'2-100k-20000 K(k-200)(k+100) K=200

x2-100x-20000
prduct =-20000
sum=-100
(x-200)(x+100)
x=200 ;x=-100
no of book cant be in negative so the no of book is 200
