Please tell me-the steps for the isolation of genomic DNA from animal cell.

Dear student, 

to isolate genomic DNA we need to follow following steps at the very basic nature of the experiment :

1. cell lysis or disintegration of plasma membrane of cell mainly done by using detergents such sodium dodecyl sulphate.
2. digestion of cellular components like protein and rna by proteases and RNases
3. nuclear will also get denatured or disintegrated exposing genetic material.
4. centrifuge using a proper solvent. (Generally we use chilled alcohol and even without centrifugation DNA precipitates out in presence of chilled ethanol )

for further study of that isolated DNA following are the steps :

1. add a suitable dye 
2. run on agarose gel electrophoresis to obtain DNA fragments 
3. DNA fragment is then isolated using blotting techniques and that fragment can be studied further.
