Pls explain the difference between present participle and gerunds and pls solve this. Thanks
Dear Student
The main different between present participle and gerund is that gerund acts as a noun while present participle acts as a verb or adjective.
a) going - gerund
b) drawing - present participle (Here, drawing is derived from the verb 'draw' but it is used as an adjective to describe the book and therefore, it is a present participle)
c) packing - present participle (Here, packing is derived from the verb 'pack' but it is used as a verb to show the action that is being done and therefore, it is present participle)
Regards.
