Co-evolution can be explained as a phenomenon where the Parasites have also evolved and are more host-specific. That is both the Parasite and the Host are liable to Co-evolve.
For example - if the host has developed some features to resist the Parasite, the parasites also evolve in such a way that they counteract the resisting action of Host and continue with the same host species.
The adaptive features of Parasite for their parasitic mode of life are -
a) Shape and size of parasite
b) Loss of unnecessary sense organs
c) Loss of locomotory structures.
d) High reproductive system
