pls tell me about nitrogen fixation by lightning

Dear student, nitrogen is fixed by lightning which convert nitrogen and oxygen and combine them to from NOx oxide. NOx will react with water to form nitrous or nitric acid which ultimately seeps into the soil and form nitrate which is used by plants. Thanks and regards
