Plsss answer me
What is magnetic field lines? List three characteristics of magnetic field lines. Describe an experiment to show the magnetic lines.
Dear Student,
Magnetic field lines are the lines which are formed in a region of magnetic effluence. e.g concentric magnetic lines near a straight conductor carrying current, near a magnet etc.
Characteristics of magnetic field lines
They are closed and continuous
They move from north pole to south pole outside the magnet
They move from south to north pole inside the magnet
They never intersect each other
To study the magnetic field lines due to a current carrying circular coil is
Take a circular coil on a table and fix it with a battery and a key.
Allow the current to pass
Sprinkle iron fillings on the table near the circular coil
The iron filings take the shape of concentric lines near the coil and and parallel at the center due to the influence of both the current carrying coils
This formed lines tells us about the magnetic lines formed.
