Plz ans it fast as possible I Cigarette smoking is injurious to health. How can the government reduce its consumption but only thral tha market forces Fxnl*in the chain of effects of government's action.

To reduce the consumption of cigarette in India, Government can take following steps:
1. Government can impose heavy taxes  such as state tax and excise duty which will increase the price of cigarette. resulting in decrease in quantity demanded of Cigarette.
2. Government can also choose the policy of selective credit control, giving less credit to cigarette manufacturing industries.
