Let the speed of the bus be x
then speed of the car is x + 20
Let the time taken by bus to cover be t
then time taken by car be t-4
Time = Distance  / Speed
Distance = 300 km
300/x  -4 = 300/x+20 
=>
300 - 300   = 4
 x      x+20
300(1 -    1  ) = 4
       x   x+20
x + 20 - x    = 4   
x2 + 20x        300
     20      =    1 
x2 + 20x      75
x2 + 20x = 150
x2+ 20x  - 150 = 0 be ax2+ bx + c= 0
a= 1, b = 20 and  = -150
D = b2 - 4ac
D= 202 - 4*1*-150
D = 400 + 600
D = 1000
√D = √1000
√D= 10√10
√D = 10 * 3.16
√D = 31.6
x = -b + √D
