Prolactin is called lactogenic hormone -why?

Lactogenic hormones are gonadotrophic hormones secreted by anterior pituitary. In females, these stimulate growth of mammary gland​s and also promote lactation after parturition. 
Prolactin performs the same function i.e. stimulates the production of milk. Hence, it is a lactogenic hormone.
