Q.1. What is the main idea of the play? Has it been brought out effectively by the writer?

Dear Student,
In the play Mother's Day, the author wants to bring out the fate of most housewives. The poor housewife has to work all day, simply to keep her husband and kids happy. But the husband and children are always thoughtless. They do not have any regard for the feelings of the poor mother. They treat her almost like a servant. They are all busy in their own lives while the poor mother has to stay at home and keep working. Her husband and children never think that she too is a human being who deserves to be treated with affection, respect and care. Also, they do not realise that she too needs some rest and entertainment.
Yes, this idea has indeed been brought out effectively by the writer through Mrs Pearson's character and her sad plight, as has been depicted in the play.
