Here is the solution of question 17. If you want the answer to question number 18, please ask it in a separate thread, so that we can provide you with meaningful help.

Solution 17)

Manufacturer sell mattresses at profit =20•/•
Profit of manufacturer. = (20/100) ×1500
=Rs 300
Total price. = 300+1500
= Rs 1800

Manufacturer sells to agent at= Rs 1800
profit of agent. =10•/•
amount of profit. =(10/100)×1800
=Rs 180
Wholesale price of mattresse = 1500+300+180
=Rs 1900

Agent sells to shopkeeper at = Rs 1900
profit of shopkeeper. =12.5•/•
amount of profit. = (12.5/100)×1900
= Rs 237.5
Retail price. =1900+237.5
=Rs 2137.5

Total profit if manufacturer directly sells
at shpkeeper's rate. =300+180+237.5
=Rs 717.5
profit percentage. =(717.5/2137.5)×100
= 33.3•/•

Hope this helps!

Dear student

"        "  C ''   ''        ''  = 20 %
''        ''   D ''   ''        '' = 25%
Total = 50 %
Hence A would have 50% profit if he directly sold to D.
