Q.19. Calculate the temperature of 2 moles of sulphur dioxide gas contained in 5 L vessel at 10 bar pressure. Given that for S o 2 gas, van der Waal's constants are : a = 6.7 bar L 2   m l o - 2 and b = 0.0564 L m o l - 1 .

Dear Student,

According to the real gas vander waal equation,
                                   P +an2V2V-nb = nRT                    [ a & b are constants, n= no. of mole]Putting the values :10 + 6.7 ×2255-2×0.0564 = 2 ×0.0821 ×T15.36(4.8872) = 2 × 0.0821 × TT = 75.06 2 × 0.0821    = 457.12 K

So, the temperature of SO2 gas is 457.12 K
