Q.19) Pneumatophores are the specialised roots that grows out of the water , Upwards , to reach the air and obtain oxygen.
This type of modification is found in trees that grow in swampy areas where air is less (Due to mud).
Their function is to provide oxygen to the plants.
Example - Mangrove species (Avicennia)
