Q. In which direction will osmosis occur?
Dear Student,
Osmosis is the movement of solvent molecules ( in this case water ) from its region of higher concentration to the region of its lower concentration across the semi- permeable membrane.
In the picture above, A has less solutes than B, so A is dilute than B. Water molecules are more on A side than B, so osmosis will take place from A to B as water moves from A to B across the semi-permeable membrane.
