Q. Three coins are tossed simultaneously 200 times with the the following frequencies of different outcomes:

  Outcome   Frequency

  3 heads  23

  2 heads  72

  1 head  77

  no head  28

How to find probability of getting:

  1. three heads  2. at least two heads  3. two heads and one tail

(i) Probability of getting 3 heads

= number of favorable outcome/total number of outcome =23/200

(ii) Probability of getting atleast 2 heads

 = no. of favorable outcome/total no. of outcome = (72+23)/200 = 95/200=19/40

(iii) Probability of getting 2 heads and 1tail

 = no. of favorable outcome/ total no. of outcome =72/200 = 9/25

 Three heads= 23 / 200

at least = 72+23 / 200 = 95 / 200

two heads and one tail = 72 / 200

  • 1

 three heads=23/200

at least two heads=72+23/200=95/200

two heads and one tail=72/200
