Power sharing is desirable:

One can explain the reasons in the following:

a.  There are prudential reason to support power sharing, that mitigates the chances of conflict in the society and ensures stability
b. It calls for accommodation of diverse interests and gives voice to the marginalised.

It also prevents tyranny of the majority

.  We may give example of power sharing arrangement in India, Belgium . Both the countries have brought about various forms of power sharing, For example , federal system in our country. This refers to decentralised dimension of power sharing aimed to involve people at the grass root level making democracy more inclusive. We may also give example of a Community government in Belgium. Whereas in Sri Lanka, majoritarinism , brought about civil strife and violence in the country.


Moral reasons:

a. Such a method of power sharing would ensure development of individuals' personality .
b. It brings about moral development of individual by allowing their participation.
c. It inculcates a sense of planning and leadership qualities among the people.
d. Power sharing strengthens democracy and is in its very spirit
e. It involves participation of people in the policy making process.
