​Q1) How did the govt. ignore the sustainable practices followed in forests earlier and why?

It was seen  during the British rule where they indiscriminately cut down the trees for their own industries ,for ship building and for the railways.They displaced and prohibited those from using forests who were the actual protectors of the forests.The forest resources were over exploited by the Britishers.Even after taking the charge from Britishers the forest lacked the required knowledge and  didn't kept the local needs into the consideration as a result the locals were continued to be ignored in managing the forest resources not only this the vast tracts of forests had been converted  as a monocultures of pine, teak or eucalyptus
