Q.9. The side of a square is 25 cm. Find the length of its diagonal correct to 2 decimal places.

  • -1
first consider a square abcd.
now draw the diagonal bd.
now in triangle bcd use pythagoreas theorem.i.e
h(raised to the power 2) = perpendicular(raised to the power 2) + base()raised to the power 2)
                                        = 25(raised to the power 2) + 25(raised to the power 2)
                                         =625+625
                                          =1250
                                           = square root of 1250
                                          =35.35

by pythagorus theorum
25^2 + 25^2 =diagonal^2
diagonal= 2(625)^1/2
diagonal= root2 into 25
  • -1
The length of the diagonal is 35.35cm
