QUES-prove that the area of rhombus is equal to half the rectangle contained by its diagonal.

TO PROVE-ar(rhombus ABCD)=1/2(area of rect. contained by its diagonals) => 1/2(AC * BD)

area of rectangle is l*b
in this figure.........the area of rect. ABCD should be should be BC into DC......then why is it mentioned (AC*BD)?????????

Here, the diagonals of rhombus will contain the rectangle i.e., the diagonals of rhombus will form the length and breadth of the contained rectangle.

⇒ Length of rectangle = l = d1

 and breadth of rectangle = b = d2

So, area of rectangle = l × b = AC × BD =  d 1 × d 2

Hope you get it!!
