Q.37. In only one of the circuits given in Fig. 14.40, the lamp L lights . Which circuit is it ? Give reason for your answer. [Delhi 2001 C]

In the first circuit the emitter base junction is not biased , so no current flows across L , therefore hence lamp L does not light . Where as in the second circuit the emitter base junction is forward biased so emitter and hence collector current hence flows and lamp L lights up .
