Dear Friend,
You have to subtract a sq + 2ab+b sq ..so first set up the equation:- i.e. 4ab +b sq -(a sq + 2ab+b sq)
now solve the bracket ..a sq will become - a sq , 2ab will become -2ab, b sq will become -b sq ..now the equation would be :-
4ab+ b sq - a sq - 2ab - b sq = ( cut + and - b sq );(subtract - 2 ab from 4 ab = 2ab)( a sq will remain as it is coz there is no same term) ans =2ab-a sq
I HOPE U UNDERSTOOD
thanks
regards

ANSWER....... +( -a 2 )+2ab should be added to a 2+2ab+b 2 to obtain 4ab+b 2
BECAUSE........ -a 2 + a 2 will cancel each other and hence will not be there in the obtained answer. There is no need to add anything in b 2 as it will remain as it is in the obtained answer. We will add 2ab to 2ab as they are like terms and the numerical value of like terms get added or subtracted according to the opretion and so will happen with these two also.
