Rainbow is form due to scatteringor refraction of light

Dear student

Rainbow is formed due to reflection, refraction and dispersion of light by the water particles present in the atmosphere. As a result of which a spectrum of light appears in the sky. A rainbow is always formed in the direction opposite to sun. A rainbow is a continuous spectrum of seven colours in a band.

Hope it helps
