- Mendel's work was not much noticed for around 34 years. In 1900, Rediscovery of Mendel's work was done by three scientists independently.
- They were Hugo DeVries, Carl Correns and Erich von Tschermak.
- These three worked on different plant hybrids to reach a certain conclusion and expand awareness of laws proposed by Mendel to the scientific world.
- Before discovering Mendel's papers, these three claimed to have discovered the laws of inheritance.
- DeVries showed the law of segregation in hybrids of more than 15 species.
