Momentum of a body indicate amount of force required if we want to change in state of motion of a body in a given interval of time.
If a body has high value of momentum and you want to change the momentum in small time then it indicate high amount of force is required.
Momentum of a body is defined as product of mass and velocity of a body and it is a vector quantity and directed along the direction of velocity of the body.
