Rubiso is an enzyme that can catelyze two entirely different process during day time in plants.

a)*What are these reactions?

b)*What is the full form of RuBISO?

c)*In one reaction chl- is evolced, what cell organans are are involved in other reaction?

  1. RuBp( Ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate) is an organic substance that is involved in photosynthesis. The enzyme RuBp is the most important and abundant enzyme in the plant world. RuBp initiates carboxylation of ribulose-1,5,biphosphate to produce a transient 6- carbon  compound called 2-carboxy 3-keto 1, 5- biphosphoribitol which splits into 2 molecules of 3-PGA.
  • Under some specific conditions like high oxygen concentration and light, it catalyzes oxygen with ribulose biphosphate. This reaction is called oxygenation which leads to the formation of one molecule of 2- phosphoglycolic acid and one molecule of 3- phosphoglyceric acid. The oxygenation leads to the photorespiration process.

  b. Ribulose-1,5-Bisphosphate Carboxylase Oxygenase, commonly known by the abbreviation RuBisCO.

a)+RuBisCO is one of many enzymes in the calvin cycle.
. During carbon fixation, the substrate molecules for RuBisCO are ribulose 1,5 bisphosphate, carbon dioxide (distinct from the "activating" carbon dioxide).
+RuBisCO also catalyses a reaction between ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate and molecular oxygen (O2) instead of carbon dioxide (CO2) called photorespiration.

b)RuBisCo is an abbreviation for Ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase
