(b) Find: Number of white counters in n  number of pattern As shown in tablepattern 1 has 0 white counterpattern 2 has 2 white counterpattern 3 has 4 white countersimilarly pattern 4 has 6 white counterpattern 5 has 8 white counter  As we can see in pattern ,if we have n numbers ofpattern we have 2n-2 number of white countersfor example , for n=3 then 2n-2=2×3-2  =4for  n=10then 2n-n=2×10-2=18                    Answer  - If pattern number is n then we have 2n-2 white counters
