Short note on 1.composting,2. FYM,3. Vermicomposting,4.green manuring

Dear student,
Here are your answers.

1. Composting: Compost is organic matter that has been decomposed in a process called composting. This process recycles various organic materials otherwise regarded as waste products and produces a soil conditioner (the compost).
2. FYM: Farm yard Manure is prepared basically using cow dung, cow urine, waste straw and other dairy wastes. It is highly useful. FYM is rich in nutrients. A small portion of nitrogen is directly available to the plants while a larger portion is made available as and when the FYM decomposes.
3. Vermicomposting:  Vermicompost is the product of the composting process using various species of worms, usually red wigglers, white worms, and other earthworms, to create a mixture of decomposing vegetable or food waste, bedding materials, and vermicast.
4. Green manuring: In agriculture, green manure is created by leaving uprooted or sown crop parts to wither on a field so that they serve as a mulch and soil amendment. The plants used for green manure are often cover crops grown primarily for this purpose. Typically, they are ploughed under and incorporated into the soil while green or shortly after flowering. Green manure is commonly associated with organic farming and can play an important role in sustainable annual cropping systems.
