both  are rich people
both are  good hearted,polite n aaand helpful
both love bassanio and have good relationship with him and care for him



differences
portia fall in love with bassanio but antonio did not fall in love  with any lady.
portia livesin belmont but antonio lives in venice

at the starting of the lesson both Antonio and Portia were sad . Antonio because of his ships were in danger and Portia because of not marring to the person whom she likes.(similarities)
Antonio was in a great depression that his ships were not at reached still to the coast.
Where as Portia was felt happy that all of the suitors were not going to marry her if the competition was held

Antonio was sad because his ships had not returned from the business ventures abroad,whereas,Portia was sad because she couldn't choose who she likes....nor refuse who she dislike.

Both were showed melancholic or depressed behaviour in the beginning of the scenes.We have read that Antonio's Friends had guessed that his ships might be in danger but Antonio was silent, but in case of Portia she is revealing the secret of her sadness to Nerissa and that was she could not choose her life patner herself because she was bound to th will of her late farther.
