Friction , simply can be defined as , the resistance offered to the object or body , when it is moving . Sometimes it is also referred as air resistance or simply , resistance .
Advantages of friction:
(a). It helps us walk anywhere , otherwise in its absence we will fall due to slipping .
(b) . brakes of automobile function almost due to friction .
Disadvantages :
(a). It always spent some extra energy in the form of heat .
(b). It cause the parts of machines to wear and tear .
Friction use the energy in the form of heat .
The friction on a streamlined body is lesser due to which the energy used is less .
Yes, fluids exert friction .The frictional force exerted by fluids is called drag or fluid friction.Water exerts force of friction on object which move through it and in direction opposite to its motion. Its S.I unit is the unit of Force
