Sn is Stanum i.e. is Tin. So in H2SnO3 why does H have oxidation number + 1 ?? It should be -1 cause it is a metal.
The molecule exist like
That is hydrogen atom is attached through oxygen atom which is a non metal. That is why H oxidation state is +1.
