9. A triangular field is in the shape of an isosceles triangle. The
attitude and the base are in the ratio 6 : 5. If it costs Rs 5,250 at
the rate of Rs 350 per hectare to grow some crops in it, find the
dimensions of the field.
[Note: 1 Hectare = 10,000 sq m]
Given :
Total cost to grow crops = Rs 5250
Rate per hectare = Rs 350
Therefore Area of the field = 5250 / 350 = 15 hectares
Area of an isoceles triangle =1/2 base * height
Given: Base =5x Altitude = 6x
therefore Area = 1/2 * ( 6x*5x) = 15 hectares
15 x^2 = 15 hectares
x^2= 1 hectare = 10000 sq m
x= 100 m
Substituting x= 100 in base & altitude we get
Base = 500 m Altitude = 600 m
15 x^2 = 15 hectares
x^2= 1 hectare = 10000 sq m
x= 100 m
Substituting x= 100 in base & altitude we get
Base = 500 m Altitude = 600 m
