Solve all the questions given below

Dear student. The solutions to question D and E are as follows-Dear Student, D. Aluminium has 3 electrons in its outer shell, which it can donate and form a cation. Thus Aluminum is a metal. Si, has 4velectrons in its outer shell, which can either be lost or it can receive 4 more electrons to complete its octet. Thus it can act as both metal and a non metal. Thus it is a metalloids. Phosphorous has 5 electrons in its valence shell and it accepts 3 more electrons to complete its octet. Thus it is a non metal.. E. Electronic configuration of Cu= [Ar] 3d9 4s1 As there is an unpaired electron in copper. Now this unpaired electron can undergo d-d transition which gives rise to colour. As a result, Cu2+ forms coloured compounds whereas in Zn the configuration is [As] 3d104s2, which is fully filled and there is no scope for d-d transition. Please post the remaining queries in separate threads. Regards
