Let the three digit number = xyz
According to the question:
y = z + 5 ---------------------- ( 1 )
x = y - 8 ---------------------- ( 2 )
Now, the digit y should be greater than 8 but less than 10.
If we take y less than 8, then from (2), the hundreds digit will become negative, that is impossible.
If we take y equal to 8 , then hundreds digit becomes 0, and we obtain a 2-digit number, so it is also rejected.
We can't take y = 10 as y is a single digit number.
So, we take y = 9
Now, from (2), x = 9 - 8 = 1
From (1), we get z = 9 - 5 = 4
So, the required number = 194
