Solve these both

Dear Student

Both questions means the same.

Amphoteric oxides are those oxides which can act both as an acid and as a base.
Amphoterism depends on the oxidation states available to a chemical species. This is because metals have multiple oxidation states, they form amphoteric oxides and hydroxides.

Some common examples are aluminium oxide, zinc oxide etc.

For example-Aluminium oxide reacts with acid to form aluminum salt and with base to form salts called aluminates.
Al2O3+6HCl→AlCl3+3H2O
Al2O3+2NaOH→2NaAlO2+H2O
