  • When 8 Kb fragment of a mouse gene is cloned into the Eco RI site of a vector of 6 Kb size, the total length of DNA becomes 14 Kb.

  • When digested with BamHI only three fragments of 5.5 Kb, 4.5 Kb and 4 Kb are produced, hence three bands are obtained.
