state Einstein's Photoelectric equation explain two characteristics on the basic of this equation

Energy of photon = energy required to eject an electron (Work function) + kinetic energy of the electron
Ephoton = W + KE

hv = W + K.E. => K.E. = hv - W

That is the energy of the photon is used to eject the electron and impart some motion to the same.

Just, by seeing at the equation it can be concluded that

1) at K.E. = 0, the energy of photon hv = W is equal to binding energy, and that frequency of the photon is called threshold frequency (vo).

2) any frequency below this frequency cannot eject the electrons
