State the difference between power and energy.

Energy is the ability to do work. It's unit is joules(J).Energy changes it's form from one to another. Various types of energy are kinetic, thermal, potential, gravitational, sound, electromagnetic, light, elastic, etc . Energy is can be stored which can be used in the future.
Power is the rate at which a work is done. P=work/time. It's unit is watts (W) or joules/sec. Power cannot be transformed from one type to another . Different kinds of power are electric power, optical power, human power, etc. Power is not storable or cannot be stored.
