symbiosis - define it

suppose a man is trying to push a wall . but the wall does not move. what is the amount of work done? calculate the amount of work done in lifting a body of mass 3 kg through a distance of 11 meteres

1.Symbiosis refers to a close physical and prolonged association between two or more organism belonging to different species. This interaction between two different organisms are usually of benefit to both the organism but sometime may be of benefit to one and harmful or unaffected to the other; or harmful or unaffected to both of them.
For example: The symbiotic interaction between algae and fungi forms lichens in which both the organisms are benefited by each other. Algae synthesises food for fungal partner while fungi helps in absorption of nutrients and protection of algae.
2. When we push hard against the wall, the force we exert on the wall does no work, because there is no displacement  in the wall. However, in this process, our muscles are contracting and relaxing alternately and internal energy is being used up, That is why we do get tired.

3. As, we know that :-

work done = force X displacement = F X s

here,

F = mg = 3 kg x 9.81 m/s2 =  29.43 N

s = 11 m

thus,

W = 29.43 x 11

so,

work done

W = 323.73 J
