Tea or coffee stays hotter in shiny pot or black pot

Dear student,

Tea or coffee remains hotter in the shiny pot.
Shiny pot reflects the light and the heat and the wall of the pot does not absorb heat.
Whereas, the heat is absorbed by the walls of the black pot and hence heat is transferred in and out of the black pot.
