Test of burning fibre with proper aim and procedures

Aim of the experiment: To test burning fibre.
Theory:
The purity of wool and silk can be known by the burn test. The way that a fibre burns (or melts), the way it smells when it burns and the type of ash or other residue it leaves behind, will all provide clues regarding the fabric which we have.
Procedure:
Precautions:
1. Always work in a well ventilated area
2.Use metal tweezers or tongs to hold the fabric .
Conclusion:
Thus the Test of Burning fibre is an easy and a cost effective test , for estimating the fibre given to us. But it should be performed carefully
