Cryptogamae are seedless and flowerless plants , they are also known as lower plants. The word cryptogamae itself means  " the hidden marriage"

But phanerogamae are seed bearing plants, they are also known as spermatophytes.

actually cryptogamae means hidden reproductive organs and they are seedless and flowerless plants and phanerogamaes means open reproductive organs and they carry seed and they contain flowers.

besause thallophytea, bryophytes and pteridophytes have reproductive organs which are hidden and are very conspicuous they dont have flowers and seeds and have naked embryo. that is why they are classified as cryptogamae (crypto-hidden, gamous-marriage)

while gymnosperms and ngiosperms produce seeds which consist of the embryo along with stored food. that is why they are classified as phanerogamae (phaneros-visible)
