1) People from countryside rushed to cities in search of new jobs.
2) Only few of those whose friends and relatives were already working in the factory got job.
3) But many others had to wait for a long time; till then they were staying under bridges, casual wards provided by the Poor Law authorities and also in Night Refuges established by private persons.
4) Those who were doing only seasonal jobs went back to the countryside during offseason period.
5) Others after the peak season ended, became poor and started searching for unusual jobs.
