the angle of elevation to the top of temple from the point in the same horizontal plane is 30°,where observed from another which 150 meter straightly ahead from the original point on the same plane, the angle of the elevation of the top of the temple is 60°.find the height of the temple

Dear Student,

Please find below the solution to the asked query:

We form our diagram from given information , As :

Here , Height of Temple =  BC  =  h m  and AD  =  150 m and BD  =  x

We know :  tan θ = OppositeAdjacent , So

In triangle ABC we get :

tan  BAC= BCABtan 30°= hAD + BD13= h150 + x    ( We know : tan 30° = 13 )150 + x= 3 hx= 3 h - 150         --- ( 1)

And in triangle DBC we get :

tan  BDC= BCBDtan 60°= hx3= hx    ( We know : tan 60° = 3 ) x=  h3  , Substitute that in equation 1 we get :h3 = 3 h - 150h =  3 h - 15032 h =1503h =753 = 75×1.732 = 129.9 m
Therefore,

Height of Temple  =  753 = 129.9 m                                                      ( Ans )
