The area of a courtyard is 3750m2. Find the cost of covering it with gravel to a height of 1cm if the gravel costs Rs 6.40 per cubic metre

AREA OF COURTYARD = 3750 M ^2

HEIGHT OF GRAVEL = 1 CM

FIRST WE SHOULD HAVE TO MAKE THE VALUSE EQUVALENT.

SO 1M^2  = 10000 CM ^2

SO 3750 M^2 = 3750 * 10000

                         = 37500000CM ^2

VOLUME = BASE AREA * HEIGHT

                     37500000*1

                   = 37500000 CM ^3

AS WE KNOW THAT ONE M^3 = 1000000 cm^3

  SO 37500000 = 37500000/1000000

                            = 37.5 m^3

COST OF I CUBIC METRE GRAVEL IS RS 6.40

SO COST FOR 37.5 M^3  GRAVEL IS = 37.5 * 6.40

                                                                    = RS 240

SO COST OF COVERING IT WITH GARAVEL TO A HEIGHT OF I CM IS RS. 240

Given, Area of courtyard=3750m2 Height of gravel=1cm=0.01m Volume=Area*Height =3750*0.01m3 =37.5m3 since cost of 1m3 gravel=Rs6.40 therefore, " " 37.5m3 "=Rs6.40*37.5 answer=Rs 240. By-Rana Royal
