"The baker does not merely represent a profession but he is a representative of an old lifestyle which people formerly remember and he is an important part of the society." Discuss this statement in relation to a baker from Goa

Dear student
The elders of Goa still remember the days when Portuguese ruled Goa and love the loaves of Portuguese bread. The mixers, the moulders and the furnaces used by them can be seen even today and bread making is still very popular. The arrival of the baker, who is known as pader, in the mornings is an inseparable part of Goan village life. The baker's arrival, twice a day, was a happy event for the children. The jingling thud of his bamboo was enough to wake them in the morning.
