The experiment which Lamarck did on rats, he did it only for a few generations .but evolution takes place after millions of years .so how can he say that Darwin was wrong?

Dear student

Please refer the solution below for the said query

The experiment on rats was not carried by Lamarck but by William McDougall's. He carried an experiment to study the inheritance of acquired habits in rats which was earlier explained by the Lamarck. This experiment tests and explains the possible transmission of learned behaviour from parents to offsprings and hence supports Lamarck's theroy of inheritence of aquaired traits. However, this does not disaprove the Darwin's theroy of natural selection and inheritence of inherited traits.

Hope this information clears your doubt about the topic.
