The length of a rectangular field twice its breadth. A man jogged around it 5 times and covered a distance of 3 km. What is the length of the field?
Dear Student!
Let the breadth of the rectangular field be x m.
Given, Length of the rectangular field = 2 × Breadth of the rectangular field
∴ Length of the rectangular field = 2x m
Perimeter of the rectangular field = 2 (l + b) = 2 (2x + x) m = 2 × 3x m = 6x m
Given, Distance jogged by the man = 3 km
Distance jogged by the man = 5 × Perimeter of the rectangular field = 5 × 6 x m = 30 x m
∴ 30x = 3000 ( ∵ 1 km = 1000 m)
Length of the rectangular field = 2x = 2 × 100 = 200 m.
Cheers!
